Nardini Convent, Newcastle KZN 17 November 2009

Lots of laughter; the children enjoyed the hands-on experience. This is an exciting concept. I hope it will grow and grow!

visit of the KZN Superintendent-General 11 September 2009

On the last day of the 2009 KZN ScienceUnlimited (27 August) we were greatly honoured by the visit of the KZN Superintendent-General: Education, Dr Reginald Cassius Lubisi. Dr Lubisi took time out from a very tight schedule to attend some of our exciting science shows. His visit was intended to last only about 30 minutes, but he stayed for longer than an hour! ?I would have loved to spend the whole day here!? were the parting words of a visibly impressed Superintendent-General of Education.

KZN ScienceUnlimited 2009 the best ever! 09 September 2009

Our streamlined three-day event attracted no fewer than 21 000 visitors to the 170 scheduled events. The Wednesday and Thursday lectures, science shows and workshops were fully booked ? in fact overbooked! We had to arrange extra seating to accommodate our enthusiastic young visitors from 80 schools from all over KZN ? Ixopo, Vryheid, Ladysmith, Port Shepstone, Greytown and Durban to name but a few. And all this in spite of tough economic times and flu epidemics! Well done KZN and thank you.

Feedback 21 April 2009

This is Maggie Gresse of Gansbaai Christian School. We sent our student, Junior Bradley from Heidehof Farm School to ScienceUnlimited, Stellenbosch. Needless to say he loved it. Thank you very much for a glorious opportunity

Newsflash 16 April 2009

Kleinzee Primere Skool from the Northern Cape traveled 740 km (a 1500 km return trip!) to attend the first Cape ScienceUnlimited in Stellenbosch. They clearly thought it worth their while as their feedback shows:

Baie dankie vir n onvergeetlike, leersame ervaring vir ons Gr. 7's. Die blootstelling het hulle goed gedoen, aangesien ons so verafgelee is. Ons sou graag al die werkswinkels wou bywoon. Geluk met alles wat so goedgeorganiseerd was.(Many thanks for an unforgettable, educational experience for our Grade 7s. The exposure did them good, as we are so isolated. We would have loved to have attended all the workshops. Congratulations on such a well-organised event.

ScienceUnlimited KZN 2009 16 April 2009

ScienceUnlimited returns to KZN in August 2009! From 25 to 27 August, our ScienceUnlimited friends and partners will for a third year in a row be treated to a science education extravaganza! The event will be held at the Royal Agricultural Showgrounds in Pietermaritzburg. Our website will keep you up to date in the months to come.

Pretoria ScienceUnlimited 2009 16 April 2009

The sixth Pretoria-based ScienceUnlimited was a resounding success despite: ?h the withdrawal of funding (after five years of support) from the Department of Science and Technology (on the curious grounds that Gauteng is a rich province ?V more than 80% of our visitors come from outside Gauteng!) and ?h the obvious impact of the economic downturn ?V so many schools could simply not afford transport to Pretoria The 2009 event attracted more than 20??000 visitors ?Vlearners, educators and parents from an estimated 115 mainly under-resourced rural and township schools in Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West, Free State, Gauteng and the Northern Cape. We were once again humbled by the sacrifice made by schools from as far away as Pongola, Phalaborwa, Mafeking, Tzaneen and Excelsior to name but a few, that travelled hundreds of kilometres to attend.
